Joleen & Phillip: Hackberry Creek Country Club

Joleen and Phillip took advantage of our Mini Coverages for their small wedding at the beautiful Hackberry Creek Country Club in July. I just love their classic style and Town & Country feel in their details. They were even up for a few outside portraits despite the awful heat! Congratulations you guys! I loved meeting your amazing families... you two are truly blessed.

Joleen reads a sweet letter from her very-soon-to-be-groom

Joleen's grandma popped in to see the bride. I love how much emotion can be relayed in a single touch

I don't remember what was said, but I love the reaction!

"I now pronounce you husband and wife.... you may kiss the bride."

Genuine smiles of happiness as they leave the ceremony

Joleen's dad had so much to say in his toast, they joked he was "filibustering"!

Some serious cake-cutting dedication

After the cake cutting, Joleen's dad surprised them with a sweet and emotional slideshow

There were some funny moments too

Everyone laughed a little and cried a little

A worthy opponent

My family is full of little boys! My other nephews are 3 and 6 months old. More casual "at home" portraits... proof that family pictures can also be fun!

How can you say NO to that face???

Amanda & Steve: Highland Park United Methodist Church and Maple Manor

Amanda & Steve had one of the most emotion filled weddings I've documented recently. There was joy and tears flowing throughout the entire day and I have to confess, I too got caught up in the waterworks! Allow me to recap:

The bride cried as she read a sweet note from her groom-to-be:

The groom cried as he watched his beautiful bride approach down the aisle:

EVERYONE cried as Amanda's brother offered his toast to the bride and groom:

I assure you, there wasn't a dry eye in the house... including me:

In one of the most selfless gestures I've seen, the bride presented her grandparents with a cake in honor of their 55th wedding anniversary: I LOVE the reactions of those in the background...

You ask, did I cry again after witnessing this reaction from her grandmother? You bet I did!:

But let's be clear... it wasn't all tears that day. There were plenty of other emotions:

JOY & EXCITEMENT:

ANTICIPATION:

HAPPINESS & LOVE:

But let's not forget why we really love all this... the sheer BEAUTY of it all:
